Kolkata: 18 year old Subhrajit Chattopadhyay died on late Friday night at 9.30 pm. He was diabetic and had complained of breathlessness. Three hospitals refused to admit him because he was covid positive. Later they went to the Kolkata Medical College and Hospital(KMCH) where he was again denied admission. His mother then threatened to commit suicide so the hospital authorities had to comply. But he was taken to a ward where he wasn’t given any medicines or treatment and his parents weren’t allowed to see him. When asked about his health, his parents were not provided any answers. His father believes his son would have survived if he was given treatment on time. Ajay Chakrobarty, Director of Health Services has promised to look into the matter.
